of a girls dreams came to a standstill,

of a girls dreams came to a standstill,

A Poem by Rachika Evelyn Fauz

of a girls dreams came to a standstill,
lost in time and space.
She had dragged from day to night,
Night to day in search of something she had wanted.
All her dreams.
Where they her’s? Imposed maybe.
Dreamt by a different soul maybe.
Dreamt and made her’s were they.
To be this and that.
To speak, to earn,
To be steadfast.
No on knew what she was.
She was lost.
Lost in a murmur of beings
Of things not her own.
Of dreams and smiles not her own.
If she knew who she was.
If she knew what she was.
She could be so many things.
Could have a Ravana like face,
Or maybe she could be the girl next door.
All she wanted was to be free.
In a quest for something she knew not.
In search of answers.
No! She has to stand steadfast.
If freedom she requires so she shall.
If she requires no boundaries, so she shall.
It is what she gets.
It is what she fights for.
Journeys travelled.
Lived in lands unknown.
Had laughs, cries, moments.
All moments.
But to pen and paper she couldn’t
She couldn’t be pen and paper.
What did it have? Knowledge.
A mystery? Isn’t freedom mysterious>
Isn’t this life mysterious?
