The Red Red Santa Suit

The Red Red Santa Suit

A Poem by Rachika Evelyn Fauz

Long ago I saw you there,
Wrapped a head dress
Round your neck;
Jingled in the holly
A cup of cocoa by the fire.

Sang restless tunes
Hummed the carols along

You sat there,
Cute as the pythons face.
Looking left to right
Disguised in an angelic face

Long ago it started all.
Freesia’ s grew then in your yard.
Poinsettias a rarity
 your cheeks red as them.

Long ago you said to me.
"Dear my love, I long for it  be,
I long for it to pass"

I saw you and ran,
This was it.
Tonight it came to pass.

With my cocoa, I walked.
Snatched in a conner you did.
Rendered you did.
And head dress you did.
Stole from me all this you did.
Bundled me in my bed to sleep you did.

"Look" you shouted.
"It’s Santa!"

I startled and smacked you.
"You b*****d, tis not Santa,
It’s me in red.
You killed."
