Bright Star

Bright Star

A Poem by prettybretty

Closing my eyes, I wonder where you are
And I know that you must be
Sitting atop some distant star
Nightly shining brightly; hidden by day
But beautiful--in every way

If you were alive, you'd be a star
A bright star, and you'd be mine
Our fingers laced; our souls intertwined
Breathlessly divine

Cosmic lovers, all unite
Take me away to that star of night
The one where my dreamed one shines bright
Take me away on that one fine flight
Never to return to the day
But beautiful--in every way
