Sonatine

Sonatine

A Poem by prettybretty

your departure's exit wounds
i see it coming like the tides of the moon
& if i got somebody else
would i still be in dinner clubs
singing the blues
if he lets me out
3 years after the flower blooms

i swear off women
cause if God created woman
then he's not my kind

without you i'm nothing
but me
& that's a responsibility
too heavy to carry

you martyred me
& i don't know if
that's the worst thing
or the best

it's a slender thread
that ties my
suture points
