solitary confinement

solitary confinement

A Poem by prettybretty

don't wanna watch VHS's with mommy
don't wanna go to my cool friend's party
tired of sleeping
tired of being
leave me alone i am trying to read
don't wanna hear your voice
unless you're a black dream
i'll be stuck in the 90s
i wanna stay in bed and
learn of crime and activism
and buy things i don't need
i wanna burn Christian pamphlets
and never watch tv
i wanna stop being reminded
that there's no one like me
i wanna bandage those kids
that scrape their knees
i don't wanna
think anymore
there's nothing i can connect to
and i don't wanna
anymore
leave me alone
