Shades of Black

Shades of Black

A Poem by prettybretty

fabrics of black hang
from his tiny body
like a witches robe
like my nightgown
like my wedding dress
that I never found
but he was beautiful
as a fragile child
& he spun around & only smiled
in his awkward & self-conscious youth
the days of being wild
baby you are my only truth

I love your descriptions, how you describe "this awkward and self-conscious youth." And I love how you write " & he spun around & only smiled." It just really brought this too life I think. :)
