Gloomy gleam

Gloomy gleam

A Poem by moog-drika

Desolation smears my soul with a melodic torture,
stitches my face with tears while slitting my emotions.

You know how suffocation tastes?
I see gloom devouring gleam in one second
and trying to vomit it out the very next second.

Perfectly nonchalantly gory. What a juxtaposition between the matter-of-fact tone & the vivid blatancy of your message! This is pretty much how I feel about everything these days, ever since I read that 1000+ people in the USA are dying each & every day of covid while the Trump minions freak out over athletes who kneel during the pre-game national anthem becuz their Lord & Master told them to throw up this smoke to hide his failures. I'm so sick of the lies & deception & destruction, the last two lines of your poem taste like tiramisu to me (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

this sounds like something someone would write about today in the clutches of quarantine:/ I think of the taste of suffocation, as that metallic taste one gets from an adrenaline rush. darkness and light are symbiotic creatures they don't exist without the other and in each the opposites are plainly found if you squint the right way. A short but sweet scrawl sketch

Thank you so much ❤️
I think this is one of my favorite things I've ever read.
Every single line could stand strong as a poem on it's own, but together it's a masterpiece.

This is what I've been feeling lately. No one else seems to have been able to sum it up in such an eloquent way.

This has a Plathian like sadness that reminds me of her last poems, addressing the second person in L3 gives it a very tough style, well written, good job!

A very intense and sad piece filled with pathos. It reads well in a voice of someone who feels very disheartened and lost with no control.

It was very shocking to read this poem. Not in a bad way - I think that is what you were going for. "I see gloom devouring gleam in one second." That was my favorite line - it reminds me of bipolar disorder. The words that you chose are very visceral. Thanks for sharing
