Bare Faced Truth

Bare Faced Truth

A Poem by Christina
"

A poem about someone who caused pain and is too vain to see what she/ he has done to the people around her/him.

"
You stare into the mirror admiring your own beauty,
 but let us face it
if you look at it from my point of view
in reality you are the ugliest person that I have come to know.
You lie to your family about where you go and
who you hang out with.
What you see in truth is just the illusion that
your vain eyes can see.
I live in a reality where I am the girl in the background
always watching and taking note when another
lie
comes out of your sneering mouth.
And though you may not like it you might even
despise it,
I will always be a foot or so behind you telling
anyone who will listen,
The bare faced truth about you.

This was written from a random idea that I had when I was a freshman in high school. The creative writing class I took thought that it was really good.

Deep, I think it's very well written although it feels rather dark and leaves a few unanswered questions... like, is the speaker maybe actually referring to themselves? Or are they referring to someone else they truly hate? In which case I think the best course of action would be for the speaker to stay away from that person... But anyways, it does stir up emotion, so hats off ;) But, I think at the end you meant "who will listen" not "how will listen".
