Lifeless Dolls In WaterA Poem by M O R P H I N E
Is it what he said it would be?
And did you really burn those pictures of me? We could have been happy, we could have gone far But like mine, your feelings never came from your heart. In search of answers I rode off into the moonlight Where everything was pure and dreams became real life. There, you stood waiting for me endlessly Roses in your hand, wanting me so passionately Does he watch you fall asleep at night? And does he keep your picture by his bedside? Is he worried that you’re smoking way too many cigarettes So he listens to you breathing when you’re laying on his chest I lost you to the wolves that day And the scene replays itself in my head constantly I gave you what I could and you took what you wanted What I had was never enough so you left, leaving me haunted Is it what he promised you it would be And are happy now that you’re far from me? I wish you the stars and I wish you the joy I wish you everything you want with your beautiful boy © 2011 M O R P H I N EReviews
