Sinking Battle Ships.

Sinking Battle Ships.

A Poem by M O R P H I N E

Your picture sits on my bedroom wall and I’m gazing at your face.
If only you knew how much I really need you in this place.
I dream of touching your lips with mine and taking you beyond worlds.
Where we'll walk on golden dust and you will be my girl.
Please tell me that’s okay with you because I’m afraid to leave.
I can’t walk away tonight if you’re not coming with me.
So, read between these broken lines and tell me what you want.
I’ve been drinking from a dozen bottles trying to numb this full blown love,
I dare you to say goodnight and tell me you will remain.
If that’s the case I’ll leave you with these letters and songs, unnamed.
They belong to you from the open bruises that my heart could not control.
Loving you was never a waste of time but this is the scene where I go.
I’ll go far away, don’t ask me where
For no one is bound to know.

I really enjoyed this. My favorite phrase is "letters and songs unamed". Who doesn't know that endlesss, senseless stream of pain that pours out of us when our hearts are breaking, only to fall on deaf ears and eventually be thrown away?

This was absolutely beautiful... Bravo, I loved it! The love, the sadness... all of it! 100/100
