This BoyA Poem by M O R P H I N EHe woke up that morning
And ran a cold bath His body was blistered with that days skin grafts The mirror was mocking; as himself, he watched The clock sounded loudly As the day slowly passed A cup filled with coffee Three sugars on the side This boy is so beautiful; he’ll say that you’re lying He leaves out the back door And off he will go Where does he run to; nobody knows He can a strum a guitar And sing you a song He can dance like star And write you a poem He smiles like an angel But he hurts deep inside Yet what he is hiding, he fails to let rise I know he’s alone The eyes always tell He says he’s okay But I know him too well This boy is so beautiful, but he’ll say that you’re lying He’s so beautiful, and yet he is dying © 2010 M O R P H I N E |
