Monster

Monster

A Poem by M O R P H I N E

Trotting painfully beneath the dim lit moon
Escaping the fate I had feared

The monster is out
The monster is out

These screams are so loud
Can you hear?

Hands tightly grip her throat
As tears dance down her bloody cheek
She slowly drifts into a daze
And the last thing she see’s is the monster’s face
Smiling so sweet with beauty filled with grace
The monster smiled as she left this place?

It is out.
It is out.
I can no longer control it.
It is bigger than me now
They shall all come to know it

The monster has been released
And you are all to blame
I walked across the bloody path
While dead bodies filled my way

I enjoyed this poem from the mystic title to the picture-painting lines below.

The repetion is put into perfect place, yet there's so much room for story behind this.

In the fourth stanza, at first, I thought it was the wrong word, but I reread it and the connotated word is actually quite perfect.

The theme of the inner monster is a common theme at least for me anyways. I can see a clear picture and I desire more. Write more!

Reminds me of a song by Florence and the Machine. And I love Florence and the Machine. Very gothic, very interesting. The last stanza leaves me wanting more, and I hate you for it haha! Sometimes we all think that our inner monster has been released, and it's on a rampage.
