Simple Complexities

Simple Complexities

A Poem by Shaunta R. Edwards

Questions?

Answers?

All wrapped up in the simple complexities of my life...

a contradiction here, another there

all blindside by simple words

complex thoughts

thoughts of he

thoughts of she

words said, written, expressed

all hung out to dry

 time taking unexpected, unprotected turns

somehow to lead me back

Wants?

Needs?

the urge to feel again, those little butterflies

now so complicated, everything so wrong

given away to someone else, only to find rejection and pain
