You're the Pretender

You're the Pretender

A Poem by FallenAngel
"

Just a little poem I wrote obviously inspired by "the pretender" by the foo fighters .

"
What if i say i'm not like the others,
what if i say i'm not just another one of your plays,
you're the pretender.
What if I say that i'll never surrender?

My doubting comes into play,
More and More each day.
Sometimes I remember,
how mean you can be.

So who are you?

Sometimes you're just my nightmare,
A bad dream I wait to wake up from,
Sometimes you're my savior,
Keeping me away from that darkness,
hidden inside of you.

You're the pretender.

Keep yourself hidden,
Inside your own soul.

I'm the voice inside your head,
I'm the enemy,
I'm the hand that will take you down,
Bring you to your knees.

So keep your distance love,
For I can only Last so long,
Playing with a master,
Playing with The pretender
