Seas of Oblivion

Seas of Oblivion

A Poem by Domenic Stewart
"

My 2nd girlfriend recently broke up with me, and so to vent some of my sorrow I wrote this. Dark beginning but goes to a slightly lighter end.

"
The sailors ship shattered,
His young body beaten and battered,
Staring up at the blood red sky wondering just how much he really mattered.

Surrounded by an endless ocean of black,
Gasping for air and laid out on his back,
Never did he expect to be thrown away by that explosive, air splitting, crack.

Floating now on the seas of Oblivion,
The skies a wicked vermillion,
The seas an empty bottomless black to his vision.

His body bent and broken,
Why must this pain be inflicted upon this boy who is so soft spoken,
Now his last wishes go unspoken.

He slips from his raft and falls under the pounding waves,
Thinking he's going off to the sailors graves,
Being sent to a death like so even without being any kind of knave.

But something holds him up,
Something has decided to spare this young pup,
Hands preventing his life and blood from falling into Death's cup.

There is a light leading his newfound way,
His lessons from the past now may he still pay,
But at least he shall now live to love another day.
