Poisoned MindA Poem by Domenic StewartAn apocalyptic tale with a plot twist.Late at night a preacher holds communion with their flock, people from all around each and every block, the shattered clock on the wall still making it's routine "tick-tock", Outside fire rains down from the sky upon everything in sight, people panicking for survival in either fight or flight, cursing whoever was the source of this dooming blight, The people of the communion do nothing about it, just eagerly listening to the garbage spewed to them in the pulpit, praying their only preacher shall bring them through it, Each and everyone of them with a lame and poisoned mind, in that they are one of a kind, each following the other who follow a shepherd blind, The doors of their domain open onto the hell outside, oblivious to all the tears being cried, immune to all of the men and women who have died, They walk the streets lined with dead, only seeing the perfect little world in their own collective head, unaware that they too are about to be laid to rest in an eternal bed, When a door creaks open and a woman walks in, her look tall and thin, who administers this queer man's medicine, Doctors claim he has a tainted and poisoned mind, in his cell and jacket he's left in a bind, surrounded by others of his manic kind. © 2015 Domenic StewartAuthor's Note
