My Biggest Fear

Agony swallows me up

I can no longer breathe

hurt and torn inside of me

My face swollen red

my eyes filled with tears

my life is a blur

all I have are my fears

The worst of all kinds

I lose all my hope

The roar rips inside of me

I feel like a dope

Lost under the surface

The shivers under my skin

Blurred vision controls me

no help from my kin

The roar mixed with screams

from my red tearstained lips

My chest gets all heavy

I clutch around my hips

The pain never ceases

I lay down and cry

I feel alone,

I think I might die.

The thunder rips through the sky

the lighting lights up the night

I see all my fears in one flash of the fight

The thunder rolls

and the lightning strikes

and yet another heart grows cold

on this sleepless night

Author's Note

This was inspired by the tremendously terrifying thunderstorm that just passed through my town. Itt was so so scary.... and yes I am afraid of thundr still.

You expressed your fear well Tara with good action words throughout. I think the line "I feel like a dope" maybe could have been better, it sounds a little off and flat. Just my opinion though. I love thunderstarms but the lightning gets me scared. ha Good poem. I'll be back for more.
