Chapter 5

Chapter 5

A Chapter by Tara♥Undefined♥

The hand belonged to on of the men. Yes. but this man pointed his
weapons toward the army that still aimed for me. Soon, a few of the men began
to follow his lead and defend the people at my side. But not all the men were
easily convinced. it could’ve been different. they didn’t have to die. In the
end though, there was nothing we could do to stop them except eliminate our

rivals.

This war had begun. It was not just a war of physical ability but of
mentality. The brain was much stronger in each of us then we were forced to
believe. The small army I had created was going to be built up.

"This is for you." I thought. I was now fighting a battle of the heart.
A battle for the people I barely knew but loved deeply and for my love. I
would fight for my love and succeed. I knew I would succeed even if the
enemies eyes I had lost. I would succeed.

As we head out to seek the source of our planet’s power to stop the
Admiral I turned my head and stared at the tower and though the distance
was far. I could see it. I could see the wall. I could see such a tiny, from
here, black spot I knew was the hole that still remained in the wall.

I could see flashes go by that I knew belonged to men in the Admiral’s army
sabotaging my home. But, that’s wasn’t my home anymore. That was the past
to me and I was not that person anymore. I was independent and needed
nothing but the one I loved. I sought his presence now and wouldn't stop
until I felt it near.

Nothing could stop me now. I needed Diarmuid and I knew I was
risking many people and many homes but somehow I also knew I would win.
Perhaps in some way though I would lose. Not the war but something I
couldn’t put my finger on.

***

It had been weeks of battles. Innocent blood had been spilled and yet no
sign of Diarmuid. I didn’t know what to do and my hope was fading quickly.
My love was still out there waiting for me. I needed him now more than ever.
Waging war,as you can imagine, gives you a lot of responsibility. Today, I
knew I would find him though. We were in the farthest corner of Navaar and
I could feel his heartbeat, hear each breath, taste the fear that he was
drenching.

"I’m coming for you." I whispered quietly and took off in the
direction of his subtle calls. I left alone for all I needed was Diarmuid and I
had finally found him As I approached the end of mountains top I heard the
faint hum of my name.

"Lu-Luna?" Diarmuid whispered and fell out of the cave in which he had
been hiding in.

"Diarmuid," I called as I ran sloppily to embrace him. "I- I -missed
you so." I was unable to finish that sentence because I had realized that
seeping through my shoes was a thick, dark red liquid that was coming from
my love. "Your bleeding!" I cried as I caught Diarmuid in my arms. " Please..
please. You’ll be okay. You have to. You can’t leave me." but no matter what I
said each breath he took became more shallow and ridged.

Each movement more fragile and shorter. That’s when I knew I didn’t
have any power to save my beloved. I began to weep over him as he took his
last intake and as I cried a magical thing happened.

Each sparkling teardrop that hit his severe wound began to fizzle and
my cries died as I looked in amazement at the magic of true love. His wound
began to heal under the power of my tears and with the last bit of energy I
could manage using, I kissed him gently on his soft, cold lips and layed
helplessly as I drifted into an involuntary sleep.

I awoke in a valley, deep and green. lilties and others fairies of the
forest flitting around me. The field was covered in the most bright,
beautiful flowers this side of the kingdom had ever seen. As I looked down
beside me to brush against the divinity of the valley I spied Diarmuid.

He was starring in amazement as well at the beauty in this place. I
wanted to speak, but before I could make a sound Diarmuid pointed shyly
into the morning sky with a small but visible tear strolling down his face. I
followed the direction of his hand and saw what had awed him.

Even on this day (The brightest of many in years) the stars were
clearly shining through to the valley. Each one suppressing memories of the
old and the young . Each contemplating the feelings inside of each of us
below but clearly focused on this valley for stars have not shone in the
kingdom since Victor took power.

It was the most mesmerizing thing I had experienced. That’s when I
remembered last night. How had I gotten here? How did I save Diarmuid?

How had he been revived? All these questions needed an answer but I had a
gut feeling they would never get one.

For some reason I was okay with that fact. All that mattered to me
was that I was with my love and I was safe. As I lied down upon Diarmuid’s

chest and he stroked my hair with such a gentle touch, we gazed at the last bit of a miracle we
would see for a long time.

The field of fairies lit up as they danced their graceful dance around where we were laying.

"Lady Lunaria!" called one of my rebel soldiers I had acquired for the
cause. " Where have you been? The whole team went out on a search party
looking for you."

"I apologize for the scare but I came across a strange feeling that I should
come here." At that I stepped aside showing Diarmuid, thus my
explanation.

"This is him?" the rebel said in response to the torn ragged look of my
dear Diarmuid. " This is the one you’ve been searching for isn’t it." It wasn’t
really a question but more of a reassurance to himself his saviors were
together now.

"Yes," I paused to gaze in my loves direction. "it is, now enough talk," I
smiled in a way that showed I had been restored of strength and had a plan
in my head. " It’s war time."

As we took off in the direction of the soldier camp we had set up we
prepared ourselves for the battle of a lifetime.

Seeing my love next to me, ready to fight by my side, was enough motivation to keep me alive.

"Diarmuid," I said. " No matter what happens from no until the end of this battle, remember that I will always love you." I didn't even give him time to respond before running off to the front of my army. I was beginning to cry and I couldn't let myself show them weakness. I had to be strong for them.

This would only be the first of many battles in my war against Victor. Amazingly, most of his men had disproved of his ruling of the kingdom for so long but wouldn't even risk trying to destroy him. They could have been killed, but now that I was in control, they knew we could do great things together.

Once we made it to the clearest spot in the forest, we set up camp and I showed off a bit by starting my own fire (Magickally of course). We were smiling with gay expressions, but inside we all knew that this was no happy time. We were going to battle first thing in the morning. This would be the last time my men would get to see theirs wives and children for the rest of the war and they were trying to make the best of it. A miracle happened though. Something that made us all strong and ready for this battle. We had lives to protect, lives to save.

One of my army general was sitting by his pregnant wife's side when she began to scream.

"The baby,-- It's coming!" she cried loudly,"Aaah!" I rushed to her side since I was the only woman that was in range of her, and brought her to my tent. I, and a few other women, helped to prep her for delivery. She would give birth to a beautiful girl, I could sense it, and though I had no experience with this sort of thing, I knew exactly what to do. A few moments later, the screaming stopped and though we should have heard a cry, we did not. The baby was not breathing.

Her mother began to cry at her loss, but as a woman that played as her nurse tried to take the child from her I stepped in.

"Stop. Give her to me." I said, though I wasn't sure I could do anything to help her. Surely enough, though I tried, I could not use my magick to heal her. Then, I got an idea. I propped open the baby's cold, purple lips, and swiped a cloth at the back of her throat to unclog happened and the child's mother began to cry more as her husband took her hand, but then, a small whimper sounded and soon became a sweet cry of a baby.

"She's alive!" We all began to cry out of happiness. This was a true miracle. This was true magick. Nothing was going to stop us from defending our people. We would survive.

The next morning, the woman and children, including the newest baby, left the camp for home while we all prepared to fight. our first battle was about to start and we were all armored up and prepared to win.

Me and my men, Diarmuid beside me leading the way, marched up the hill to meet the army of men that Victor had pulled together to fight against me. The army was much larger than mine and a few of my men took off in fright.

"Men," I started my battle lecture."They may are bigger than us, they may be stronger than us, but we have the one thing that they don't. We have hearts. And in those hearts lies enough strength and power to defeat these monsters. They don't know love, they know no honor. We have that all-- inside our hearts. If you wish to leave now , we will not blame you. Go to your wives and children, but if you want a change, if you want to live another year, than stay and fight for your family, for your people."

After all that I turned in my head-to-toe-armor of pure silver and pulled down my helmet. I raised my sword to the skies and yelled a mighty yell running, leading my army fearlessly toward those who awaited us. Those whose only wish was to destroy us.

We began to fight. Head on Victor's army came after in a swarm. Leading the army was not Victor, but a group of men pulling a cross that had a women stringed to it. The woman was my Mother.

The army on the enemy side was overwhelmingly larger than that of ours but it did not strike fear into the hearts of any of my remaining men. I had calmed them with my show of powers. The doubted we would lose. That was a mistake. It forced them to be overconfident in themselves.

"Fear is a worthy companion to us,. It could help us win this, but don't let it control you or we are lost." I barely turned my head to speak to them so they would not see the tears welling up in my eyes. The men that I ordered back were the only one's who could probably hear me.

No. I thought. Be strong for the men. Be strong for your mother.

I straightened up and ordered my men to take their positions.

"Archers, line the front and aim for their heads and hearts. Try to hit the leaders first. it will limit the armies resources and likely cause a retreat if they lost their commanding officers." I ordered. Mostly talking of Victor if he went down. They would be lost completely and we would have won the entire war in a battle. Of course, that was highly unlikely. This would not be the end sadly. I knew that.

I swiftly pushed through to the front of the battle where our armies clashed together and began to take the enemies down one by one. I force pushed 20 archers to their death with the flick of my wrist. It came so naturally though I knew it was not something I'd done before.

Soon, due to the new power our numbers were close to even. Until Victor came through. I hoped on my horse and charged through the enemy lines when i faced him he looked at me as if waiting for something.

I took off my helmet and in rage I charged at him with one hand on the hilt of my sword. The entire time I was not paying attention to the fact that Victor had not moved or stopped smiling. As I slashed my sword at him he snapped his fingers and I heard it as loud as if something had exploded within me. I stopped abruptly, knowing completely what was happening. At the moment Victor snapped his fingers my mother screamed.

" Mother!" I cried but it did no good. " Let her go Victor. This is between you and me. She has nothing to do with it." I tried to sound brave but kept looking back at mother's now burnt throat. The men pulling her along had taken some sort of electric device to her and injured her voice beyond repair instantly.

In a hoarse voice my mother let out all she could sustain with a "Luna" and her head dropped. Luna's face grew red with anger as the realization that her mother had just died sank in.

This would be the last innocent life Victor took. I force pushed all the men surrounding her dear mother and a crackle in the sky devoured them whole. Soon the lightning raged on and seemed to be in sync with every move I made.

Each slash of my now glowing, silver sword was echoed by the sound of thunder and quick flash of light in the sky. I maneuvered with such grace as if I were dancing. The sea of blood surrounding me strengthened my attacks. We were winning. I knew we were.

I tried my hardest to avoid using my powers against them. I was determined to give them the treatment they deserved. I would kill them like any normal teenage warrior would.
