The caterpillar and the butterfly

Inspired by an adventure to bible college.

A immature caterpillar
not so newly born
Unknowing what it is suppose to be
Making no progress to become what it is meant to be.
Such an small thing,
Comfortable in her little garden.
Afraid to venture outside of the place she had always known.
Caring for no progress in her life,
just in the comfort in her safe little garden.
The caterpillar has known no other way but to be what she is.
She does not welcome change for she believes it brings unwanted things.
Shy and fearful was she.
Day by day,
She watched the butterflies fly by and Having their fun.
Dreaming of a day that she believed would never come.

A mature butterfly
So glorious in its adult state
Mesmerizing even to look upon.
He has known times of trouble
Learned and matured from them
He has ventured out in search for change, for growth.
He has known the world beyond.
He has learned progression in life
and welcomes change with open arms,
for he knows what his creator has meant for him.
Independent,
confident.
Responsible,
and loving
These are the attributes that are of a butterfly.

One unexpected day
When she was quiet
For her dreams were buzzing in her head.
That is when it happen;
that is when they met.
The butterfly was intrigued by a caterpillar such as this,
for she had such a knowledge of the sky.
Though she wasn't even close to being a butterfly.
That is the day where the caterpillar started to want to make her dreams a reality.
That is the beginning to her great adventure.

Like a dew drop on a flower,
the butterfly opened her mind to the great adventure of being a butterfly.
Little by little the caterpillar ventured out of the little garden she has known so well
and away from the butterfly that opened her mind to me possibilities.
Leaning only on her creator for guidance.

Soon she made her way to another garden far away.
Though scared, this is where she knew she was meant to be- for now.
Meeting other caterpillars that also had been called there.
Here is where she will become what she always dreamed of.

There were days where she would think back to all her friends in the little garden
-to that lovely butterfly that helped her become who she is.
She once had thoughts of staying with that butterfly in her little garden forever...
But the creator had other plans.

Just as that one beloved butterfly that impacted the caterpillars whole life,
she dreamed of one day impacting his life.
But it is not to be- at least not now,
maybe not ever.
So the caterpillar let her butterfly go.
Hoping to she him once again happily flying in the sky one day.
As a butterfly should be- free.

Though that is not the end of the story,
only the beginning.
There is a great many more adventure awaiting the caterpillar,
just not ones so close to my heart as this one.
Not just because of Him,
he only awakened her mind.
He was a step in the right direction
-it might of been a large step, but a step.
He supplied her with encouragement to seek after the creator.
Just one leap of faith that lead her to the start of her great adventure.
That is the extraordinary thing that happened when the caterpillar met the butterfly.
