Temptation

Going to a Christian college seems to be more difficult than other colleges. The only way I get through it is by leaning on God. It's hard but he has me.

Everywhere temptation lies.
The same place where faith is strong,
So is temptation.
Meeting new people who are so much different than I,
In a place where God bring people together.

Temptation comes in many different forms.
It comes to you when you are the weakest.
Mine came to me in the form of a man.
A blond, blue eyes southern man.
One with sweetness but with a little sassy on the side.
My "bad boy" type as I call it.
Leather jacket, cowboy hat and cowboy boots.
Such a uncommon combination made my heart race.
The one thing that could make my head turn,
And satan used it against me.

Yet He was just like the ones before him
I liked the way he looked.
Nothing more.
I saw no future with him.
Youthful list for what I thought was a man
But turned out to be just a boy.
Empty lust tis was all.
Through difficult I had went through because of him.
Yet, to others he would not be something to covet.
I wanted him as if he was a trophy.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Such a selfish wish!
I only thought how wonderful it would be to have him on my shelf
And that is where distractions began to take place.
Once again I let selfishness take over and make a mess.
I did not think of me temptations feelings after I was done with him,
Nor did I think about the feelings of the man God promised to me.
Though in the end,
There was no beginning.
And I smile at that...

Faithfulness starts in the mind.
God supplied the one thing I prayed years for
My future husband.
The one that is faithful above all else.
Though we are not together outwardly,
Our hearts are still attached.
My deepest fear is to hurt him.
Being unfaithful in even my mind.
It is better to never marry than be unfaithful.

I still have a long way to go,
For the recent past confirms it.
I pray a little prayer every day
Hoping that The Lord will help me to be faithful
For temptation lies everywhere
Waiting for when you are in aware.
That is when it will attack.
Like a wild animal it will try to drag you down.
Stand firm.
For you have a solid foundation in Him that loves you most.
The Lord.
