Open

A poem I wrote for a friend of mine.

 

Open your heart so that I might see,

Because I need to know you love me,

In my soul I feel we are together,

As close as two people can be forever.

 

Open your sould for me to understand,

Why these situations are at hand,

Can you find it in your being,

To love me without knowing what I'm seeing.

 

Open your eyes so you can know,

What makes me move what makes me flow,

Open your arms to protect me,

So I can stay and never flee.

 

If you open up to me then you will find,

That you will not be left behind,

Because if I can see who you are,

I could never love you from afar.

Not one of my better ones but it has sentimental value.

The sentimental value makes it good. I like this. I think the rhyme scheme is nice and works for the poem. Nicely done.
