Slurp

Slurp

A Poem by Monday Parker

I scrub his body clean

Massage my fingers into his hair

Towel him dry

Hand feed him

Until his hunger is gone

And he steps on me

With his shoes on….

Digging his dirty soles into my

Open and giving hands

Sucks on my straw of life

Until he reaches the bottom

With a slurp

  Satisfied and content

He hands me back my

Battered heart

And turns around.

I think this is a well written write here kind of sad but well written. I like this

Comparison of yourself to something as temporarily satisfying like a convenience store soft drink speaks volumes about a relationship. I like your descriptive detail and the theme of being consumed and discarded like fast food. Well written.

This reminded me of a comic book, not sure why and I mean that in a good way. Right to the point, not a word wasted, crafted exquisitely well.

This is nice..
I touch his body, play with his hair..I fed him love, until his hunger gone
And now he steps on me his dirty soles into my hands..
He breathes through my life, satisfied and content
And he turns and hands me back whats left of my poor heart
Some could be so stupid as to behave like this..
though sad and bitter ,you were so creative about it..you came out as a real winner
a lovely wonderful write..I really loved this
lovely write..
