A Poem by Monday Parker

So did you notice…

How she was on to you?

I did

But I am not suppose to say anything

Right?

That way I can stay your friend

No longer your girlfriend

Because of my green thoughts

Green is the color of jealousy

In case you didn’t know

But I know

I wore that color often when I was with you

Only because you’re not to be trusted

With my true heart

So I watched wide-eyed and waiting

To catch you in your game

Played so fearless

Like you had nothing to lose

A fight to the end

To the death of me and you

Never showing your factual cards

But my insight was strong

A gift from my stars

I know without knowing

A curse and a witch’s ability

I will take to the last respire

And I knew without knowing that

You where not doing right by me

And still to this day I watch

Wishing to have you back

Wanting you to be mine again…

Even with knowing without knowing…
