Woodstove

Woodstove

A Poem by Monday Parker
"

You still heat me...

"

It’s O.K

Because I have already changed my mind

The thoughts fluttered away as if humming bird

I knew it was a bad idea

I just wanted to be around you

Without eyes

Question our every move

I want to sit near you

Closer than I should

You make my heart race

Bringing my blood

To a

Rapid boil

You heat me

Like an old woodstove

Every time you brush against me

I have quick flash visions

Of laying intertwined in your arms

Quick

Hot

Steaming

Breath taking glimpses
