Haunt Me More

Haunt Me More

A Poem by Monday Parker

I tremble when I speak

Desperately trying to forget my past

When “he” was everything to me

Trying not to remember his kiss

Or the way his hands caress

Needing to forget so

I can breathe

So I can make it past this hour

When his memory consumes me…

poignant, and tight. this is really a very good poem from a technical sense, and a very true poem from an emotional sense.

This is an adorable confessional poem. Everyone's been there, in essence, and you present your vulnerability so nakedly, so bravely, that one is moved to be your stellar protective rock through eons of stormy weather. Beautiful.

Visceral.
I think everyone who has lost someone feels this at some point. That first little time after a break up is TORTURE.
