The New Aged Vampire

The New Aged Vampire

A Poem by Monday Parker
"

For the strange couple at my work...

"
They
Lick the supple drops of blood
Off of each others
Pale unrestricted skin
Vampire by night
They prepare
With the growth of their hair
absent from the sun
They prepare themselves
For the magic and mysteries
For the strangeness they portray
Creatures of the dark night
On their nomadic journey

You could take this piece much, much father. Have you ever seen Nosferatu? He's the weirdest vampire to have ever graced the silver screen, and is much more frightening than the Tom Cruise/Brad Pitt Anne Rice creations. If you really want to make this couple seem odd or strange or weird, you should go big and describe them in a way similar to how Nosferatu looks (google image should produce something for you). Avoid cliches, they bog you down and sound bad. Try looking at it from a different, unique perspective. Maybe even take the role of the vampire and describe how everyone else appears bizarre. You write, I read.

Cheers.
