Show You a Good Time

Show You a Good Time

A Poem by Monday Parker

Escort date

Chili’s corner booth

 Four cups of vodka-cranberry

Is still not enough to keep

The interest in her eyes

Luckily for her

The vodka in his glass was enough

For him not to notice her fake smile

Her sloppy French kiss

Escort date at Chili’s

Next to the Motel Six

For more vodka-cran and forced french kisses

For money

She’ll show you a good time.

Very sparse and to the point. It gives a feeling of emptiness, insinuating a life of few goals, and those not exactly uplifting. But who is to be pitied more? He, of the short term goals, or she, who has given up on life.
