Departure

Departure

A Poem by Monday Parker

I felt you leave.

Like in a dream where you are falling

Only this was rising

I knew the moment you left my body

My equilibrium stuttered

Then steadily balancing

I knew then

You had departed

I was no longer to be expecting your growth

Its only me in here again

One soul when moments before there were two

The guilt and sadness

Came days later at the confirmation

Wet cheeks and puffy eyes

I have cried two days for you

Goodbye little soul

I wish you would have stayed

I had already planned out a lifetime of memories

In those short few weeks

I already loved you.

Farewell, little soul.

A tragic loss. As a woman my heart reaches out to you. Time softens the grief but you will never forget. A really touching little poem Monday Parker.

"Blessed Be..." and my real condolences hon. These are sincerely tough times. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

All great hopes are vulnerable; nothing is guaranteed. A loss like this, though, seems particularly crushing. No words can ease the loss. Only time can do that.

Emotionally powerful and heart-rending. The best writing speaks to its readers on a human level. Makes the moments emotive and visceral. As a male I can't fully come to comprehend the true pain a woman suffers through in such a profound loss. To have a life growing inside me and establish that direct connection without seeing is truly foreign to us men. But the pain in these words bring us closer to understanding, as well, as our own humanity. Thank you for sharing your words.

A very touching poem. My mother often told me of my older brother I never had. She experience the same feelings you expressed here. I hope you find comfort.
