Army

Army

A Poem by Monday Parker

They came for me

In my darkest of hours

They came

An army of men on white horses.

They came to slay the dragon

And steal me away

They fought through the dark forest of sorrows

With their sword gleaming in their  determined stare.

They came to save me and take me away

They fight each other at the foot of my tower

Now that the dragon lays motionless  and forgotten

They stumble over each others feet

And I stare down

Wondering who will be the winner

Who will be the one to

Carry me away.

Ah my beautiful Army of saviors…

Soldiers of my heart

Protectors of my soul

King of my castle
