Language Of Love

Language Of Love

A Poem by Monday Parker

I have never had anyone

I felt more apart of

There are pieces of you that fit me

More than anyone ever has

Not just been with, but encountered

You are different than anyone I have ever met

All the little parts of you are keeping me

Intrigued

And yet so terrified.

The newness of you is unending

Waves of emotions I have never felt

I have been waiting for you my entire life

And here you are

Yesterday and today

You have consumed my thoughts and dreams

The fear is mixed in with admiration and longing

Yearning to have you near me- always.

Only I don’t know how to be with someone

I have been alone for so long

I have a learning curve

Allowing myself to be loved

Be vulnerable and transparent

Normally I run- Build walls and close up

The idea of flight hasn’t crossed my thoughts

I feel like I am learning a new language

That I have always wanted to speak

I want to learn you- everything about you

Allow you to learn me.

We can speak

A language of love.

Gee
Same fella ?? I always refer to myself as the jigsaw man as my now wife found all of the bits then put them together in such a way that I became a better person, then husband and then to top it all a father.
Enjoyed the read.
