My entire body responds to you
When I see you Or hear your name. Quivers of adrenaline Creep up and down my arms My blood thickens Heart pounds in my chest The words get stuck to my tongue My whole body is aware when you are near Sunday afternoon I sat in my sage filled bedroom Drumming and rattling to help Free my thoughts I concentrated on the effects of you Narrowing it down Compared you to other lovers, or events in my time I saw something in my nomadic trance You don’t draw out sweetness or butterflies With you its anxiety and stress Regret My body is screaming for me to run from you The feelings you bring me are of a car crash Conflict or fist fights Its blue flashing lights You give me fight or flight. © 2019 Monday ParkerFeatured Review
