Dumped

I got dumped at lunch yesterday

He said he wanted to let me know to my face

He has found someone new

And wanted to focus his energy

Which is cool

He said I was a bad a*s chick

Wanted to let me down nicely

I appreciate the thoughtfulness

Only…. it was already over in my mind

For about three weeks now

After our political debate

Debate…not an accurate word…

But.,,,I knew then…

My insight stinging…pulsating with the understanding

He was not going to make the cut

The way he slammed my doors shut

How unbalanced he became.  

With a minor disagreement

I had already cut my losses

So yesterday when he asked me to lunch

I was perplexed

Intrigued

Which quickly turned to annoyance

He took my hour of time drove me around in his

Animal smelling Honda  

To break up with me…

To watch the expression on my face

He asked if I was upset

I lied…. and said no

But the truth is…. I was upset

That I wasted one more hour with him.
