Last Page Of His Chapter

A Poem by Monday Parker

Well…

I certainly feel this…

Unsettled raw tremor

Stinging sensation pulsating throughout

The clarity

Understanding why things have been the way they were

He belonged to someone else

This whole time

I was writing his name over and over

Drying out my pens

Professing my venerable feelings for him

And he was involved.

I should have known

I should have sensed more than I did

I knew something was off…I just thought it was

The drugs or fear to commit…Not that he was already

Committed to a girl with chest tattoos…

I feel for her… I feel sad for her emotions of love to him.

She deserves better…

He was unfaithful….Laid up in my bed

For months

While he lied, she was just a friend.

He played us both.

She can have him…Not that I have a choice.

I choose to walk away…

I won’t say a thing to her

I won’t wreck his games…

I will just take myself out of the mix…

And wish her the best…Even though he’s going to hurt her.

He will do this again.

It just won’t be with me.

Loneliness has this way of having us reach out for someone to share our existence... sometimes our silence is sooooo very full that we try to change another person INTO the person we wish they were and know their not. Seems you have "found" your limit and had the personal strength to be the person you are.

Wow, that was really amazing. The emotions of betrayal and then moving on are both very present in this poem. I feel bad for both the girls, no one should have their feelings toyed with. I really like this.

Lessons, we learn. Teach us, love can be sweet and so painful. I liked the journey in your words leading to the proper ending. Old dad told me. Dogs, they will always be dogs. Thank you dear poet for sharing the amazing poetry. Please send read requests. I read them all.
