Please Baby

Please Baby

A Poem by Monday Parker

Finger tips slipping

From a steep rock face

Below

Twisted, jagged sharp

Unforgiving rocks

Shapeless bodies

Lay motionless at the bottom

They’re drained of life

Wringed free of their blood

Tearless

Emotionless

They’re dead

And… I am slipping

Losing my grasp

I begin to feel myself

Falling

Plunging

Down

To where they lay

Please help me

Grab my fingers

Save my life

Please baby don’t let me

Go
