ArcherA Poem by Monday ParkerFor you the one in Sacramento...We had time to spend together Had a moment to spare And what words avalanched from your lips Knifes of insults that slashed at my tinder skin While I was away Thoughts of your eyes Kept my soul alive My fires burning, I had a bon-fire for you That would stand the coldest forlorn nights Until you came on that chilled Christmas Eve with your Bucket of iced water dousing my flames for you into Smoldering ash Which you walked on and treaded your boot marks over my White carpets Luckily for me fire- is not all that I am Archer with the legs of a horse Sagittarius My Centaur cast me where ever my stars say And my stars say its time to leave this place Where people like you win Where you take my heart, crushing it like you did So I don’t want to be here And I don’t trust myself, knowing the numbers that reach you Knowing with the brushes of my fingers Your voice would echo in my ears With the legs of a horse, he carried me away Where you stand looking after me with eyes of an Abandoned child I toss my memories of you in The recycle bin For someone else to find, and trip over Like I did I keep my face forward As we ride away. With a Sagittarius Fire.
