Picket Fence

Picket Fence

A Poem by Monday Parker

I am angry with you right now.

And….Yet at the same time I understand...

I get you’re set in a story you don’t know how to end

How fate will play out.

I am just the audience

Calling to the actors from my seat in the bleachers

Calling loudly for the ending I wish

Only I am not the one living the script.

I want to be your alternative ending

Your plot twist

I want to be your happily ever after

Your picket white fence

I want it all…

The dog in the yard

The babies in the crib

The french toast Sunday mornings.

I want it all

With you

How ever the story ends…

I’ve submitted my script.
