We stood smoking cigarettes


In the almost summer sun


That’s when I noticed him


For the first time


Standing a bit to close


Looking at me directly


Eye to eye


Smile quick and welcoming


That’s when I first noticed him


Fireflies of awaking


Interest sparked


Tall


Light eyed


stranger
