A Poem by Monday Parker

I was entertaining the idea

Of you again

After seeing that smile on

Tuesday afternoon

With those dimples and alluring eyes

Silent seduction

Only you can do

By Friday I decided

You’re not the same

Not the one

Not the prince or the king

I lifted the sail

On my ship of dreams

With a flip of my blonde hair

Dismissive flick of my wrist

I sent you back into

The vast ocean of... almost was.
