Down river

Down river

A Poem by Monday Parker
"

For the Story Teller

"

Without a micro second of hesitation

The DECEPTIONS sprint from your deceitful lips

The stories you tell my eager ears

Would send a seasoned detective

Down river at will

And yet I come back for more

For the rest of the story

I witness it play out

 With wide watching eyes

My timeline

My past

The history with you.

Appearing more like

An ungrounded spiral staircase

To the rock bottom.

With you.

A sad sad poem. Why do we always seek that which would hurt us?
