Tick Tick Tick

Tick Tick Tick

A Poem by Angelheaded Hipster

Words weigh so heavy

on the lines

on the lips

and she knows.

KNOWS

what has to be done

However.

Doing is always harder

than thinking the action

through over in the mind.

She could pretend

but even actresses get tired

of playing

(though the pay is great!)

She could pretend

to be Hamlet

(shes already crazy)

but then she would

need, like all Hamlets need,

her Ophelia.

Her brain is overworked

overtired, overwired

to what everyone else

wants that if someone

asked her what she wanted

she would stare at them

with a blank dead eyed look.

She thinks she knows

He thinks he knows

And thats where it

gets so f*****g hard

to see through

what's real?

what's chemical?

Chemical reactions

are still just as valid,

but it's still a matter

of DNA and science

running over thoughts

and skin.

Does she jump?

Does she stop,

and finally live for her?

This is the first that I've read of your prose. I'm awe struck. Like a narrated story in verse. I think this is well written.

Thank you for sharing.
