Steps of Love

Growing up is a difficult task

A job for one’s self �" alone

Sometimes for help we ask

From those who made our home

 

It is a time

To learn

Lessons which are difficult

Sometimes fun

 

One lesson is love

It is difficult and fun

Yet it is a lesson

Meat for two, not one

 

There are stages of love

Freindship, family

Fun, and forever

Each as important as any other

 

Knowing which it is

Takes time

Fun can become friendship

Friendship….forever

 

There comes a time

When growing up

Coincides with love

There the real confusion begins

 

Becoming an adult

Acting like one

Accepting those responsibilities

And those of love

 

Fear is what consumes me

When I think of loving you

Can I handle the responsibility

Can you

 

Are we really meatn

For each other

Dare we give

Ourselves a chance

 

Friendship can become forever

Do we care enough

To even try
