Existential Alchemy of Curated Romantic Obsession

Existential Alchemy of Curated Romantic Obsession

A Poem by Mo'men Mo'een
"

The prose poem challenges common notions advising against romantic obsession. The reader explores an obstinate voice daring to map and swim in the ocean bed of romantic despair.

"
You are an atom in my existence
A single dot in the grand fabric of being
And yet, I cannot avert my gaze away
You are my Kierkegaardian leap of faith
A colossal damage to my integration
The abyss that shook my hard-earned composure
Without leaving a lasting mark of resentment or resistance

And even when I look elsewhere
And derive an overflowing breeze of joy
My psyche tortures me back to the dot
For it knows I have collapsed into it
After the electric initial gaze

Redemption adamantly evades my capture when I am away from you
A dot around which the whole world revolves
And without which life is dull and tame

A sweet reminder of primordial passion and torture
That supersedes mechanical joy and modern stability
You left my body with stitches that I revere
And slapped my soul with aches that I hold onto unashamed

I confess to possessing the key to overcoming you
But I choose to stay
Hanging on to the dot that tenderly sears my fragile self
For I seek a microgram of gem
That only through you can I obtain

I haunt as well
I torture madly and mercilessly
But without malice
My intentions run deep
I want to celebrate the dim potential triumph
Rather than rot in a survivalist mode
And I will drag you with me
Not by force, but by an equanimous astute presence
That pierces the heart and mirrors your genuine longing
For a life worth living instead of merely survived

Mo'men Mo'een,
Now, THAT is a love poem! one of the things I like about this is, when I studied Philosophy, and Existentialism, I settled on Kierkegaard for the very element you described, and have spent the ensuing fifty years thinking about what it means to how I perceive the universe. Science wants to ignore anything spiritual, and visa/versa. In the reality/salvation I have worked out for the person inside my brainbox both are required and in most of my recent reading, the quantum physicists seem to be arriving at the idea of a Conscious Universe... would it not be nice if we could agree this would be a unifying factor/equation for all existence, all consciousness, all purpose, and meaning!
Love this poem!
