Bungee JumperA Poem by Molly DEven if I wanted to make the decision to walk away, to move on, it is you to whom I belong.
Like being tethered, everything comes back to you.
Subservient, I submit, and when I try to jump the cable in my chest wretches me back with a vengence.
Frustrating as the ache may be --- the bruises left in my chest from all the tugging --- I am a bungee jumper, grateful for the rope you keep in my body that will not allow me to wander too far from you or fall permanently from the heights I climb. © 2009 Molly DFeatured Review
