Flannel

Flannel

A Poem by Molly D

the vivid morning arrives
with no sympathy for our hangovers,
shining in the dew
as its sun breaks your window pane.

yesterday's laundry and
and two empty champagne flutes
lie tipped over and content on the floor.

your mouth tastes like me
and exciting old habits.

your walls are yellow and silent
glowing and warm
with the new morning light;

there's you
wearing nothing but your new socks
and me
nothing but the jewelry i came in.

if only these blue flannel sheets could talk.

the cool thing you do here is bring together stereotypically classy and run-of-the-mill items.

laundry and flutes

jewelry and socks.

it really makes for a "my fair lady" sort of romance. very nice.

Very sensual poem. The imagery is seductive and conjures images of desire. I loved that it also leaves a hint of something unfinished "if only these blue flannel sheets could talk." Brilliant!

oh, my. this was a lovely poem, in my opinion. as much as i hate using this word, you could call this...er...shy-sexy.

i have absolutely no idea what i'm talking about. hopefully you will understand...
