Tragic ComedyA Poem by Michael StevensTwo differing masks
What's happening to society is two sides of the same sad coin, a play house of the extreme and the absure
One side a frowning figure represents The deadly seriousness of this moment The other is the fool jester laughing Because, after all, no thinking man can Take the events swirling around him As anything else but a joke, a reality too absurd for words; he laughs at the idiot In Generalissimo clothing playing a five Year old's game of pouting, angry tantrums, then more pouting, basking In the adulation and the yes, worship Of millions; misguided, blinded, and lost. © 2023 Michael Stevens |
