500 Days--The Age Of Chaos

500 Days--The Age Of Chaos

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

More song lyrics from the metal band in my head

"

The dumbing down began when reality T. V.

Became must-see T. V. for you and me

Lazy entertainment makes quite an impression,

Void of nothing, of crude, of depression

------

Harmless you say, I say started it all

Ushered in crude and started the fall

------

Empty entertainment breeds empty heads

Affected viewers Kool Aid what's been said

Little by little, year after year

Start to believe bullshit, give into fear

------

Delusion seem real in the traumatic age,

The age of chaos, the age of rage

Imagined slights from paranoid thoughts

Have taken control and are calling the shots

------

Can't get away from it, wishing you could

Wishing others could see, if only they would

Blinded by rhetoric in a world gone dark,

But they're just lemmings swimming with sharks

END
