The Donolius Trench

The Donolius Trench

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

A new record-depth sea trench!

"
Down, down we plunge, under the icy waves,

trapped in our stateroom; clutching at hopes,

anything that saves

us from going down with the ship, into the icy abyss,

from ourselves, from Poseidon's frozen wet kiss.

We're sinking into the mighty Donolius Trench, by

far the world's deepest, dragged under why?

Because a leader/joke careening around in the fragile

China shop, brooking no criticism, imposing his

misguided will

on us all, even those of us those who hate the taste

of Kool-Aid.

down by the bow we're forced under, it's plunging

time, I'm afraid.

Yet, even now, confronted by our obvious and

ultimate fate,

some cling to wreckage, saying 'he'll still make

America great!'

wonderful poem
i loved the analogies drawn here and the humorous take on Trump
his policies are doing nothing but dividing people and is dragging not just America but the rest down a pit of endless doom and danger
