News Of The World

News Of The World

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

A collaboration between Hullabaloo22 and myself

"

I turn on the news of the world and it's all bad.

It makes me upset, anxious, and sad.

Why do I torture myself by even tuning in,

when it's nothing but evil, unoriginal sin?

You'd think mankind ain't got a chance,

that we're caught up in a macabre dance,

with evil leading as we step towards our doom.

Waiting for the next shoe to drop, as our world goes 'boom!'

It’s hard to see so much as a glimpse of hope,

it’s like they are all standing there dangling some rope.

The constant bombardment of so much to fear

is becoming way too much, is throwing our lives out of gear.

There must be something positive, something bright upon

the scene

but all we get are shadows formed where it once had been.

Don’t forever go on about all the doom and doubt

or the TV and the media we will be tuning out.
