Mouth Guard!

Mouth Guard!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

It's perfect!

"

Mouth Guard

Yeah, baby! Why didn't I think of this before?

It's the perfect remedy for the 'foot in mouth' disease

From which I suffer--I can't say anything dip-s**t

If I can't speak, of course, it looks kind of stupid,

But I'm used to that, and it's hard to see where I'm going,

But I'm going nowhere, anyhow, so why would I need to see?

And it kind of hurts, but what's harder to take, physical pain

Or mental? I think I can handle some physical discomfort

At least I'll no longer have deep regrets and guilt

About something moronic I said!

"'Tis better to remain silent and appear stupid, than to open your mouth, and remove all doubt"
Or something like that, I think it's Mark Twain.

Yeah, I think you're right, it was Twain; sums the poem up perfectly!
Good perspective. Soon there will be technology to simulate responses for the things we are about to say and let us know if its ok to say it...till then mouth guard it is :)

Thanks, and I could have used the new technology, like yesterday!
On the other hand, it's going to keep you from making a really clever quip or retort, and you might regret that.
