Off the Rails

Questioning everything I thought I knew

                                                        

From a distance I read the things you say,

 

The things you believe, and I wonder,

 

Did I ever know you at all, or is everything I

 

Believe just a mirage in the distance, that

 

No matter how far I travel, I never get closer to?

 

Questions with invisible answers?

Is everything I thought I knew coming off the rails?

There quite feels to be some mystery behind this little poem, it speaks more than it seems to and is totally profound. The rhetorical questions are tougher to figure than the usual ones and I wondered what it was that they were trying to get closer to. Sometimes, our world is turned upside down and we feel the 'going off the rails' feeling, but here the world seems to undergo a greater degree of rotation than 180. A mystifying read.

Hmm. Yes, it'd minus a lot of pain and tears from the past. And the part of it that continues to linger.

Yeah, since I was was hit head on in a car and bashed into next week and a coma, guilt seems a lot worse. They say that certain feeling may be enhanced, and lucky me, it's my guilt!

Mike, no. Don't you see you're strong. The guilt is illusion, don't let it spoil what's real. You're such a wonderful person and writer. You've got so much waiting out there for you. And i realized, it's yourself you refer to when you say 'did i ever know you at all'. Oh my!

Thanks Rana, and usually I can deal with the guilt and realize it's just a symptom of my accident!

Thank you, because my eyes are messed up because of the coma, and sometimes I read too quickly, I miss something. My left eye can see a cloud formation that looks like Regis Philben, while my right can see if the grass needs mowing, at the same time! I'm exaggerating, but not by much!

Oooh, that's a queer phenomenon, Mike, i see it must cause inconvenience. I wish it get's well soon. Does it pain? Is there a name for the condition, or i guess it just falls under the side-effects of coma. For one thing, you have the ability to see the world like no one can!
